Lilypie Kids Birthday tickers

Although he was achieving good results, he wasn't reaching his full potential because his love for learning had been destroyed & hence his grades were steadily declining.

Lilypie Kids Birthday tickers

Completely failed by the system, he hated school, was always tired & homework time was a major frustration for both of us. He was severely frustrated & quickly heading to become yet another ADHD statistic.

Vaal Dam & Water Purification Plant Field Trip

This week we didn’t get much schoolwork done again, since Misha’s away on holiday at Magalies Park with Joshua. Jesse’s been helping me deep clean the carpets after we’ve had the asbestos ceilings in our bathroom & passage replaced. Boy oh boy what a mess that left. We’ve been doing one room a day in between schoolwork & field trips. Thus far we’ve managed to finish 6 of 8 rooms. Moving dusting & cleaning has proved to be quite a tiresome job, but it has helped alleviate some of my allergies.

Lynda arranged a group outing to the Vaal Dam. Somehow what should have been an hour & half trip turned out to take 2 & half hours instead. The Dam tour entailed quite a bit of walking, but we all learned a great deal about where we get our water from & how it gets transported across the country.

From the Vaal Dam we went on to the Water Purification Plant in Vereeniging. The kids had an informative session whereafter they got to do an experiment with purification of water.  After the experiment session we got to see the water plant up close & learnt how water gets purified before it's sent to the various towns & cities.
